As a young adult growing up in Marietta, Georgia, I exhibited the signs of a budding entrepreneur, creating several businesses to help make my way through college. After graduating from The University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, I set my sights on the green industry. I moved quickly from telemarketing manager to commercial sales with TruGreen. Wanting to broaden my knowledge base, I went to work for Arborguard Tree Specialist in April 1991.
In September 1993, Caldwell Landscape Company evolved from my years of learning from the best in the green industry which then became Caldwell Tree Care in 1997. From the beginning, my mission for Caldwell has remained the same – to provide professional and customer-centered work. This can only be done through employee training and education and involvement in the green industry. In 2007, Caldwell Tree Care became Accredited by TCIA, the nation’s only program to help consumers find tree care companies that have been inspected and accredited based on adherence to industry standards for quality and safety; maintenance of trained, professional staff; and dedication to ethics and quality in business practices.
It has been my pleasure to serve on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Urban Forest Council and the Metro Atlanta Landscape and Turf Association (MALTA). Utilizing my Political Science degree, I received the first Grass Roots Champion Award for my involvement in lobbying for the green industry. In June 2009, I received the greatest honor of being elected to the Tree Care Industry Association Board of Directors.
I have been married to Kristen since 1996 and we have 3 children, Austin, Emma, and William.
